By: Peter Alves The episode starts off with Rick and Machonne looking at Carl's grave, still grieving, and packing up to go. They saw a wooden structure that was on fire that reminded them of Carl because he used to sit on the roof, so they tried to get rid of the fire, but failed because there was too many zombies so they left to the Hebsters. Before they arrived, Simon and Negan had a discussion what to do with them. They received a "gift" from Maggie of the person she killed in episode 8 in the coffin. Negan told Simon to get all of the Hebsters guns and to kill one person so they can "fall in line." Simon went to the dump and saw them and collected their guns but killed everyone but their leader, Jadis. When Rick and Machonne arrived they were greeted with zombies of all of the Hebsters and saw Jadis grieving but did not let her go with them. Rick shot over her head, like he did with Seddiq, but he didn't honor Carl's wishes of saving people that are still good. Edin and Aaron were held captive at Ocean Side for killing he grandmother, Beatrice, but they were let go. Aaron convinced Edin to go back to the car and tell Maggie not to attack Oceanside while Aaron tries to convince them to fight with the Survivors. Rick and Machonne were going to Hilltop but had to stop because he wanted to talk to Negan because Carl wrote a death letter to Negan. They had the best dialogue of the season. Negan felt sympathietic to Rick of Carl's death but blames Rick for the death, because Negan did not let him "save them." He failed as a leader and a father. Rick still has the mentality of killing Negan but Carl did not want that. What will Rick do with Negan? How will Negan react when he finds out that Simon killed all of the Hebsters? Will the rest of the group survive the swamp that Dwight has them go through to go to the Hilltop? What is Father Gabriel doing? Find out next week...
